i once tried to sell mail-order christmas cards door to door on my street. this never worked. later, i realized that the entire street was jewish, save the syrians at the beginning of the road. in one of my more regrettable high school acts, i drove my car slowly down the block while my friend showered the neighbors with blasts from this korean horn that we though could pass for a shofar. we knew what a shofar was because books like this one were assigned to us for summer reading. (there was no anti-semitism behind the above episode, just sheer stupidity).
