This book was a very quick read about the antics of growing up in an American family. While the family could not be called normal, it was typical in its disfunctional relationships and mish-mash of personalities. The stories were funny in the vien of tales told at table of tipsy wasps: amusing, a little bit witty, and easy to relate to, but lacking a certain depth. The author had great material, but his storytelling was not quite as poignant as I would have hoped.
