I read this book in less 24 hours, I wouldn't call it addictive but I was eager to know the ending and I must confess that I skimmed a few pages because I felt the story was dragging a bit. The story is good though and kicks off exactly where #2 ended. Riley has a lot on her plate, not only she has her father's safety (and soul) to worry about, but she has now her own soul to protect as Hell and Heaven need her. It's a faith that Riley wishes she could avoid since it has put her in trouble with the Demon Hunters, AKA Vatican but at the same time she knows she has a big part in this party even so she has no clue of what she should be doing to avoid a Heaven x Hell war. Now about the romance.....Beck, Beck, Beck! The same old bickering, "ya stay away girl", "your are moron!" story. There were moments I thought they were going to start talking but then something would happen and we would go back to step one. I imagine that Jana Oliver is keeping her magic sealed until #4 is out to give us what we want, but I wish the drama had been developed a bit further during this book. Maybe I've read too many amazing books lately and I am being harsh but the truth is that I expected a bit more from Forgiven.
