A nice visit into the Black Jewels realms but not as amazing as the original trilogy.

Bones of Faerie contains a very interesting premise. It manages to be post-apocalyptic and yet also very explicitly deals with the fey. The magic set up is solid and the world built is interesting. However, as a whole, the plot seems fairly cliché. There were no real surprises - the lessons learned about supposedly terrifying magic were predictable, the mother's relationship with Faerie was predictable, what happened between the narrator and Matthew was predictable. An enjoyable read, for the premise, if nothing else, but nothing amazing.
