Amazing. I have never read a book like this one. The best way I can describe it is to say that it is almost a game that Nabokov plays with the reader. The 1st part, a 999-line poem written by a fictional poet, is followed by a commentary written by the poet's acquaintance, also a fictional character. The genius of Nabokov's craft here is that the story in this book is actually found in between the lines rather than in the text itself, if that makes any sense. This one really blows me away.
