I always read this series with a grain of salt, knowing that the romance would be over-dramatized and take precedent over the realities of gang life (not that I know anything about what that's like). I loved seeing Alex & Brittany and Carlos & Kiara, but Luis and Nikki's story was repetitive and too far out of the realm of reality. The book also did not deliver on the premise that this would be a good boy meets bad girl, when it was actually, once again, bad boy meets good girl. (view spoiler) The stars are mostly for Paco.
